All star cast in a zombie comedy flick. Hopefully not a dud.

So, Doom Patrol. I don't have the DC Universe App, but I did the 7 day trial because I wanted to check out the show.
So for those uninitiated on the DP comic and characters, here's the run down. You have a group of misfit, dysfunctional super-heroes who get thrown into the midst of fighting the good fight as best they can when their mentor Niles, also known as the Chief (a scientist, semi-knockoff of Professor X, played by Timothy Dalton) has villains come after him for "reasons".
You have Cliff, aka Robotman played by Brendan Fraser and let me just say, this is not your 1990s early 2k acting Fraser. I love his character in this episode, albeit probably for all the wrong reasons. Hearing him drop "f" bombs and other expletives just makes me laugh, plus I like his acting anyhow and he plays the part really well. His character is in a wreck and the only surviving part is his brain, which the Chief shoves into a robot body and now he's a living robot.
You have Jane, played by Diane Guerrero, a schizophrenic character with 64 individual personalities, each one with their own individual super power, some good, some not so good. You can imagine the chaos that ensues with her around because they aren't always controlled.
There's Larry aka Negative Man played by Matt Bomer, a former pilot who went into space, was hit by some sort of space radiation and acquired an energy being that possessed his body. He survived the crash back to the ground but was severely scarred/burned and now wears full bandages and looks like a walking mummy with clothes. Still not sure how the symbiosis between Larry and the energy entity work but if the entity leaves the body, the Larry falls unconscious or something.
Then there's Rita Farr, played by April Bowlby, who's character in the show used to be an actress but during a movie accident she encountered some sort of weird stuff that now causes her body to turn into a blob when she gets emotional but she doesn't age it seems like.
Last, joining the cast in episode two, you have Vic, known as Cyborg, the same character from the Titans, played by Joivan Wade. He's the only character that doesn't seem gimped in any way.
Allan Tudyk plays a villain known as Mr. Nobody, a character who underwent some sort of experiment by Nazis and now has powers and such that I'm still not sure of but seems to manipulate reality or something similar.
This supers show is definitely not for kids, it's all adult and so far, it seems well worth the watch. I dig the characters and the wackiness, it's a nice break from the typical "yawn" superhero bad asses that are out on the big screen. I'm pretty tempted to keep a subscription if they keep the series going just so I can watch.
Just my 2cp.

I have four daughters (17yo, 15yo, 12yo and 8yo) and all of them are looking forward to the one below, we laugh at the trailer every time!
Look everybody, Dora brought a knife on the field trip...

Critters Attack!
I can't believe how 80s this movie looks for a 2019 flick. They did a great job of taking it back. Sure it's only b-rated fun. but I was a fan of the originals so I'll check it out.

My daughter watches Dora, every so often, but never really got into it. The movie looks interesting, I'll wait to see how the rating go.

It'll be a good one for me, because it'll be (likely) appropriate for the whole family, all girls 17yo, 15yo, 12yo and 8yo. Even if it's bad we can mock it together.
My wife is bringing them all next Tuesday night I think, to see the Pikachu Detective movie. The Pokemon thing (between games and the cartoons) has been interesting to them all as well. Though they are freaked out by Pikachu talking or something.
Good times, good fun!
