We had 60 degrees and clear skies on Monday, 13-Feb. It was remarkable for this time of year!

On 14-Feb we were at 50 degrees and rain ALL DAY which was good since we've been in a rain deficit for years.

On 15-Feb it started cooling off. Got to the mid/upper 20s by 5 PM with wind. Snowflakes started falling @ 8 PM.

This morning I woke up to blowing snow which persisted until about 1 PM. By the time it stopped we had about 7-8 inches on the ground.

So there is this area of the world between the equator and 32 degrees North. It typically has quite nice weather for most if not all of the year.

Well it is January in Nebraska so that means dull gray skies and, sooner or later, Telchur will be visiting. Looks like the visit starts tomorrow.

MONDAY NIGHT
Snow, possibly mixed with rain, becoming all snow after 7pm. Patchy blowing snow after 5am. Low around 23. Blustery, with an east wind 10 to 18 mph becoming north after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

TUESDAY
A 40 percent chance of snow before noon. Patchy blowing snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 27. Windy, with a north northwest wind 21 to 28 mph, with gusts as high as 43 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT
Partly cloudy, with a low around 6. Blustery, with a northwest wind 13 to 18 mph becoming west southwest 5 to 10 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph.

Most of the chili ingredients are already on the counter...

Definitely chili weather. I made up a batch last weekend when we had a nice cold front push through. We have rain moving in today, and then a big day of rain tomorrow, then colder temps for a couple days before another big day of rain on Friday, then a weekend of 50 degree highs and lows in the 30s and 40s. Seems pretty typical for here.

OK. It is March 26th and this morning we have a little snow on the ground, 27 degrees, winds gusting to 30+ mph with a wind chill of 13. Part of living up here is the extended cold weather beyond the 3 calendar months of winter... but I'm REALLY ready for some consistent spring weather. ;)

October 1st.

Here in NE Florida, we've seen some ever so slight glimpses of Fall. The humidity continues to be a pain in the arse and refuses to drop, except right after a hurricane event when the storm pulls all the humidity away as it leaves; I'm hoping we see more seasonal, lasting relief in 2-3 weeks. The mornings and evenings have been nice, much cooler temps than during the day. With the shift in the sun's angle this time of year, we're finally seeing the long shadows that bring along the Autumn feel. The trees know it's coming, they've been turning leave for a couple weeks now, another month or so and they'll all be shed.

Maikoh (my doggo) and I are looking forward to some months where the temps don't get above 70, and we definitely need some cold to kill off the damned mosquitos. They are absolutely horrendous this time of year.
