Nice! Are you using any particular JRRT dictionary, Jay?

I've mined the Silmarillion heavily for my elvish names (most recently for drowic ones, in fact ;) ), and have used a few online resources, but am not aware of any good (and official?) Tolkien dictionaries.
The one I primarily use is the MERP #2210 Adventure Guidebook II, ICE did a really nice job of creating an Elvish dictionary and glossary that I've used for reference since I first learned about MERP back in the 90s.
Thanks! Falconer also recommended the one in Lost Road, too: https://knights-n-knaves.com/phpbb3/vie ... 43&t=17757

Anything new going on with Iavas Sûl?

Unfortunately, nothing over the many months since Crows in the Pine for GaryCon 2023. A lot has been going on, in general, I was doing some RPG purging over the summer, was also planning and running the B/X adventure for our online game while Sam was on hiatus, before then switching over to WFRP 4e, then delving back into AD&D 2e for a bit...

With all of that, Iavas Sûl has taken a back seat. However, a few days prior to traveling for the Christmas holiday, I did have a thought or two about the setting again. To be honest though, I'm not entirely sure when I'll work up anything more for it. It might be something I look at for designing another adventure in time for MythicCon in November, no guarantees though. Heck, I still need to sort out what I'm running at Mythic West, now that submissions are open.

Who knows what the future hold? :uh:

Well, this morning I was walking, the first day of the new year, at least here in NE Florida, was amazing weather. Temps in the mid-50s, clear, bright blue skies with billowing white clouds. Couldn't ask for a better day.

For some reason though, while enjoying the morning walk, Anc's question popped into my head.

I know I said I didn't have plans to work on anything, but something in the morning air brought this to light and I started thinking to myself, "Why aren't you working on something?"

I should. I should be working on another adventure, or locales, or NPCs, something; the hinterland is vast and open, it calls for adventurers. Guess I have some work to do.

The next adventure for Iavas Sûl.
Snows on the Fallen
Welcome to Iavas Sul, the town commonly known as the Autumn Harbor and Gateway to the Hinterland. The months of Harvest have passed and Winter's Slumber now lingers.

The Hinterlands lie quiet, blanketed in white, with the calm of winter settled deeply in. The Breath of Telchur scours the land in cold and bitter wind as the Bayfolk huddle closely in their homes, hearths ablaze.

And yet…from the frosted peaks of the mountains, down to the frozen lakes below, across drift-covered fields and through snow-laden forests, the voice of adventure continues its call. When the fires die and only the cold remains, when travelers carry frightful tales and questions require answers, I have to ask, "Who, among you, will seek them out?"
This won't be ready for Mythic West, but I will be running it at Mythic in November. ;)

Good to hear something is a-percolatin'!

You could always run Crows in the Pine for MC West. Its a different crowd of folks so none of them have played it, would be a way to introduce Iavas Sûl to them, and be an easy way to submit an event.

I have thought about it and may do so. I was looking back through my PDFs and files just the other day while working up Snows on the Fallen.
