Good point on the German sound, Lord Walker! I didn't notice that on the initial listen. Since you mention it, this gives me an idea for another discussion thread.... More to come!Deil the Yin wrote: ↑October 1st, 2020, 9:41 pm Fascinating to hear the pronunciation. You really get a strong sense of the German source. Well...sounded German, anyway.
Guid on ye, Lord Gill!

On top of everything else fucked up about 2020, EVH died a couple of days ago after a lengthy battle with cancer. First a drumming legend in Neil Peart back in January and now a guitar legend.
VH has a ton of cool tunes so I'm posting a handful in memory to arguably THE guitarist of my generation. Rock In Paradise (RIP), Eddie!
Unchained from 1981's Fair Warning has a badass opening riff!
Intruder/Pretty Woman from 1982s Diver Down was just fun
Jump from the 1984 album was VH's only #1 hit and showcased another aspect Eddie's talent with keyboards.
Best of Both Worlds was of off 1986's 5150 album and was when I really got into VH. Great tune!
Finish What Ya Started from 1988's OU812 was like nothing else they'd recorded and is sonic joy to the ears.
Right Now from the For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album with some great piano work by Eddie!
Don't Tell Me (What Love Can Do) from 1995's Balance album. I go to see VH in concert on this tour and it was a great show!
Just another reminder in 2020 to tell those you give a damn about that you give a damn.

Here's Take Me Back (Deja Vu) from the Balance album that really showcases Eddie's melodic sensibilities. This track is criminally underrated mostly due to grunge and alternative being the hotness in the mid-90s.

Yeah dude, I was just thinking about this yesterday. Really sucks seeing music (and other) icons from our youth, passing on.

Most of us on the 3Ps are old enough to remember Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. She has a song out that I can totally get behind since Halloween is my favorite holiday: Don't Cancel Halloween so enjoy!

That is pretty clever!
I liked how the spiders would flash on a snare hit, the tombstones would flash in time with bass and rhythm notes, and the singing jack o' lanterns alternated between lead and backing vocals.
