Ya know, you might want to YouTube it actually... if I was doing this (for which I have NOT the skill) I would totally have my two oldest video it and put it up. Again I have not the skill nor the skillz
Great stuff though, really cool and I am very appreciative that you are documenting this, thank you!

Made more progress over the past weekend, but didn't get far enough along to take any worthwhile pictures. I spent the majority of the time just trying to get a bezel cut and routed so that the monitor could sit in a small recess in the back and fit flush. Unfortunately, the router bit I bought wasn't long enough to cut a 3/4th wide recess so the overall cut was too short.
Tried a single piece of wood without a recess but that didn't turn out the way I wanted, so I settled for just getting a piece of plexiglass and spray painting the areas around the monitor screen with black gloss. Turned out really well, I set it into the cab to make sure it would fit and look ok. I ordered in a piece of smoked tempered glass to sit in front of the bezel which should give the screen an overall old-school look once everything is in and also fade out any minor aesthetic defects in the bezel. The glass is shipping this week and should be here some time next week.
Had to adjust the monitor seat, it was too far back but a few extra blocks of wood and it was just right. This friday I'm off work, painting of the cabinet will finally begin. I should be able to get both coats of primer and the first coat of pain on then, and a second coat on Saturday. Sunday I hope to finally get it moved into my office. My buttons and sticks should be here by Thursday, which means aside from the marquee and vinyl skin, I should now have everything to start putting the electronics in and hooking everything up.
I'll get some pics of the cab this weekend after it's painted and I start working on the other stuff.

One thing I forgot in my post above was that I did actually get the control panel holes drilled out for buttons and sticks. With all of the head banging I had to do for the bezel, I had forgotten that I did that and took a pic, so here it is.
Each player has a joystick and six buttons, the two at the top, in the middle, are player one and two START, the one on the top left, is a hot button that will be used to return to the main menu in Retropie from whatever game you're currently playing. If i didn't mention it before, the three holes along the front board are going to be player one and two COIN buttons, that way players can just press them if they don't want to actually use a quarter. The hole in the middle is going to be for a plug with dual USB ports for connecting USB controllers to play console games.
I'm not sure if I mentioned it in earlier posts, but the only downside so far, is that I didn't allow for a trackball or spinners on the control panel, which means games like Centipede are less authentic, same goes for arcade games like Tempest. I may, at some point redesign and remake a new control panel that accommodates those two aspects.

Tempest was my favorite... until Gauntlet / Gauntlet II came along. Playing the Gauntlets with a friend or three was the best video gaming times I had back in the 80s. I was almost always the Wizard.... just something about throwing fireballs
