Excellent. Early May was actually out anyways and I should have just deleted those rows. Between the three of us who have filled it out so far, it's looking like, essentially, any weekend in June or July will work. Still hoping the 4th works out for everyone.
I updated my early May dates.
I updated my late July availability.

OK - since covid has torpedoed conventions for over a year now, the gathering of friends for gaming and camaraderie known as PeyCon is now on the calendar:  arrival on July 1, gaming, etc from July 2-4, and departure on July 5.

Big thanks to Jared for hosting the gathering at his home in Peyton, CO (thus the name PeyCon)!

Attendees are encouraged to have some sort of game (RPG, board, etc) for group entertainment so there is much good entertainment.  I have 1-2 ideas in mind for events to run.  Here is one of them:  a C&C adventure for characters level 5-7. Five (more depending on headcount) pre-gens will be provided. The adventure is something I'm toying with for publication and any feedback for the session will help towards that end. The adventure has combat, of course, but more than one situation that works best with players being thoughtful and creative with solutions to obstacles...

The airports in CO with the best access to Peyton are Denver International (DEN) and Colorado Springs (COS).

I now ask: Are you interested?  Are you IN?  Chime in here and/or by email, text, etc. for discussion / questions / etc.

Hope to see you in CO in early July!

Well, hell, I'll have to see how things look now that I've been able to scout airfare. Prices for flights from JAX to DEN are kind of ridiculous, around $420-450 per ticket round trip, can't see paying $900 (for me and Quinn) to fly out there for a few days, unfortunately. Flights to Garycon were not even that much in years past. Prices from ATL to DEN are a bit better, $250-290, but then that's a 5 hour trip from JAX to ATL I have to make, either day before or morning of and not liking the idea of that either. Ugh. Gonna keep checking flights and see if something shakes loose that's a bit more acceptable.

That aside, I guess we need to hammer out a window of arrival so we can potentially schedule flights for Jared to pick us up.

Would Q's mom & stepdad be willing to help him out with his airfare?

The ball is rolling on my PeyCon travel plans.

I decided to fly in to DEN on the morning of Wednesday, 30-June @ 8:05 AM mountain (local) time. One of my bucket list items is to take in a game at every MLB stadium. The Colorado Rockies have a day game that afternoon v. the Pittsburgh Pirates so this is a great opportunity to scratch another stadium off my list.

On Monday, 5-July, I fly out of DEN @ 2:55 PM mountain (local) time.

Nah, they wouldn't be chipping in for anything like that. We'll see how it pans out, I'm still checking flights and prices daily. Hopefully I'll catch a low and can grab some.

Looking at flight prices, it seems we chose poorly for making it a July shindig, lol. Prices for flights in May are incredibly low, fairly low in June and then jump up in July. Go figure. :x

Found some reprieve in getting flights out to CO and back. Had completely forgotten, but just happen to be going through my email account for some other stuff and ran across two credits that I received from Delta, last year, when the Gaycon trip was cancelled. I was able to apply those to two one-way tickets out to CO from here in JAX, on Delta, for June 30th, which brought the cost of each ticket down to $85 each. We should be arriving about 4:30pm, local time. I then grabbed some return one-way tickets via United, which leave out a bit late on the 5th, but are non-stop back to JAX so it's still much better than having to fly into Atlanta and drive back down.

Regardless, now Quinn and I are good to go for making our way out there. My next step will be to prep a few games, RPGs and others, which should make for some good fun at the table.

Awesome! 8-)

That's four of us (you, Q, me, Jared) now locked in for a great time. I know Sam will do so soon. Hopefully Don can make it. There might even be 1-2 others in the mix. This will be a most kosher group of folks!

Do you have any particular game(s) in mind to run?

I need to nail down 3 or less to prep. Odds are, anything I run won't be D&D or straight D&D clone. Several of the games have premade adventures/modules I can use that should be suitable for 4-5 hours of play time.

My pool of RPGs to choose from will be:
  • Warhammer Fantasy 4e
  • Würm (prehistoric era )
  • Weird Frontiers (DCC western/supernatural)
  • Umerica (DCC post-apocalyptic)
  • Lex Arcana (roman-era, fantasy/supernatural)
  • Lone Wolf (fantasy rpg)
  • They Came From Beneath the Sea! (1950's/B-rated horror rpg)
  • All Flesh Must Be Eaten (zombie/horror)
  • Stars Without Numbers (OSR space/scifi)
I also have Call of Cthulhu and could start running one of the extensive campaigns available. Currently, I have Masks of Nyarlahotep and a more recent acquisition, Horror on the Orient Express. But, Jared is currently running CoC for our bi-weekly sessions, so I don't know if we want to run it during the meet-up.

We've already got the date settled (4th of July weekend). Now we need an event calendar, it's not a con without one. Don't forget to pay your host $100/hour/game for your event tokens. I'll see if I can get you a seat at the table. :P

This is the same sheet as before, but I've made two new tabs.

The first is for people to record what they want to run, how many players they need, and how much time they expect to need. Once we get a few of these in there, we can start filling out the schedule.
