Mental and emotional health are often times overlooked by many people. Over the last year, I've made a concerted effort to simplify life, break it down to the most important aspects, while still enjoying the little things. Resolving to focus on the three aspects which should mean the most, as I mentioned in my New Year's Resolution for health, hearth, and hobby.
There is a specific quote mentioned in this video, around the 8:25 mark, by the ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu, in which he says, "Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.". This is the second time I've heard this quote in the last month or two, and more often these days, it rings true in my ears. I also very much like the excerpts from the 19th century philosopher, Schopenhaur, in which he suggests that "the fast paced, overstimulated nature of modern life, prevents us from experiencing true happiness".
I believe that a slower, more simple life, is something to be very much appreciated and contributes greatly to our mental and emotional health.

I have to be honest. i was always upset during childhood that I never got to experience the kind of obstacle courses I saw in films. I always thought those would be the coolest things ever. Looks like it was a thing in CA for a time. Too bad they're more concerned with the destruction of women's sport and fat shaming now than in raising the bar for physical health.

I really liked JFK's statement about getting on the field and not being spectators. Last year I played softball from April through August (spring/summer/autumn up here) 4-5 days a week and felt GREAT with all the activity! I can't wait to get back on the field again in April.

The first softball league I'll play in this year begins on 17-April.... weather permitting. You can't be 100% positive up here about rain and/or cold snaps / and or snow, etc. until the first week of June. I met a couple of friends at a practice field on Saturday and we put in over 2 hours of work throwing, hitting, pitching, fielding, and running (for me) to shake off some rust. Stiff and sore today but no muscle strains, etc. so on track for the 17th.

Awright,, folks! I'm 8 games into the season and so far so good. No muscle pulls but a slight muscle strain of the right hip flexor. Yeah, I run fast and hard on the field. Nothing a few days of rest won't fix. My team has a BYE on Monday so I have a full week of rest to get it back in good shape. As for the offensive production, I'm 24 for 32 which is a .750 batting average. Not bad.. but I'd like to try for .800.

Spider-Ham..."Webs can't support me. Too fat!"
SuperFat... "Need more solar radiation to charge my flying. Too fat!"
Loki... "I must cast Summon Buffet! Time to eat!"
Tony Stark... "This damn suit is too tight! Who swapped mine for the junior size?" Followed by, "Jarvis - how many more donuts can I eat before I crush myself to death inside the suit?"
