Re: The One Ring (2nd Edition) by Free League Publishing

The Kickstarter popped off this morning around 9am EST. By the time I checked the KS page, it had already reached the funding level and started blowing through the stretch goals and by the time I started posting this, all of the current stretch goals have been reached and unlocked.
In addition to the basic rule book, they are also offering a limited edition (Kickstarter only) leather cover version, a starter kit, a GM screen, and some dice.
One of my biggest peeves with modern RPGs has been rule books that were "too nice", in the sense that they are so nice, you wouldn't really want to use them at the table because you don't what it getting messed up. I much prefer a rule book that can be used without having to be too careful. That being said, I really like the look of the limited edition rule book, simply because it would look good sitting next to a collection of Tolkien's published books. I've decided to go in on the limited edition rule book, but will probably pick up a standard cover later on to use, at the table, if I don't want to stick with just PDF.
Below are some layout and art samples from the new version:
Loremaster's Screen and Rivendell Sourcebook
Dice Set
Starter Kit (all current stretch goals unlocked)
Map of The Shire:
Shire Compendium (unlocked)

If we reach this goal, we will expand the boxed Starter Set with an illustrated full-color compendium for The Shire of approximately 60 pages. Written by James Spahn, it will detail the land of the Hobbits for The One Ring for the first time. Discover the peaceful Shire, an island in the middle of the Lone-lands of Eriador.
