Brand new song/video from Alan Parsons ft. Tommy Shaw (Styx), "Uroboros".
Really diggin' this one, good 70s vibe.

Here's another tune from Envy of None: Old Strings. The more I listen to this one the more I like it.
I feel like old strings
My mind just won't stretch the way it used to
But that's nothing new (new)
And I feel like those used things
The ones left in boxes on the shelf
Just like everything else
So in the morning, will you hold me? Will you kiss me? Tell me all I want to hear
In the moment when I'm spinning
Please protect me, don't you let me hear the truth
Give me anything else
When it's you
When it's you
When it's true
And I don't wanna break down and erase all of these pieces of myself, no
Please don't let me drown
And in the morning, will you hold me? Will you kiss me? Tell me all I wanna hear
In the moment when I'm spinning
Please protect me, don't you let me hear the truth
Give me anything else
When it's you
When it's you
When it's true
I don't wanna die by the sword, I'm carrying tonight, no
I don't want to live by the doubts, I'm harboring tonight, no
I don't want to drown in the fears, I'm swimming in tonight
I'm not gonna die by the sword, I'm carrying tonight
Oh, in the morning, will you hold me? Will you kiss me? Tell me all I want to hear
In the moment when I'm spinning
Please protect me, don't you let me hear the truth
Give me anything else
When it's you
When it's you
When it's true
We'll make it, we'll make it, we'll make it
We'll make it, we'll make it—
I feel like old strings
My mind just won't stretch the way it used to
But that's nothing new (new)
And I feel like those used things

Haven't heard this one in several years and it popped up today. Its even more appropriate today as it was in 1997. Queensryche - Sign of the Times
Heading for the classroom yesterday
The kids file through the metal machine
It finds what they may hide
No it just ain't right
A sign of the times
Another church is burning to the ground
Looking for the vandals and they're nowhere to be found
But the hate's alive
A sign of the times, Sign of the times
A sign of the times, Sign of the times
Would someone please let me know how we have spun out of control?
Has the captain let go of the wheel?
Or could we please try to find a way to be a bit more kind?
I see the road to tomorrow in the haze!
On the Senate floor they congregate
Many pockets lined with green,
From those behind the scenes, yeah they take the bribe (it's on the side)
A sign of the times, Sign of the times
A sign of the times, Sign of the times
Would someone pleade let me me know how we spun out of control?
Has the captain let go of the wheel?
Or could we please try to find a way to be a bit more kind?

Yep, I'd say that song fits current events and goings on, pretty damn well.

Really enjoyed this new release. Lindsay Sterling featuring Amy Lee. After first I thought it was only going to be mostly instrumental with minor vocals, but it does have lyrics further in.

One of the three softball teams I play on this summer is the Rockies. The dominant color of the uniform is purple. When we gather together before and after games we'll usually conclude the meet up with a "ROCKIES!" shout for team spirit... and since I joined the team I always follow that with a "Purple Haze!" as a Jimi Hendrix reference. So, naturally, here is Jimi's Purple Haze...

Hendrix was the shiz, music these days just doesn't quite hit the same. Every time I hear or see anything about Hendrix though, I always think back to the movie The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, with Andrew Dice Clay, it's one of my favorite late 80s, early 90s action comedies.
It wasn't a smash hit by any stretch but it had a pretty good cast, The Dice Man himself, Robert Englund, Ed O'Neill, Gilbert Gottfried, Lauren Holly, Priscilla Presley, David Patrick Kelly, and Wayne Newton.
