Yesterday I had to drop my daughter off for the first day of school, and a funny thing happened on the way to her classroom as we walked. There is a line in the front of the school where cars pull through and drop off their kids, if the parents don't want to park and walk them up. While the kids are being dropped off, they have a big outdoor speaker playing music. So we're inside the school fence but walking outside on the walkway headed to my daughter's building and it cuts around near the front of the main office building, and I hear this song blasting out from the speaker. I'm like, holy crap, that's Tim Cappello, I Still Believe, from The Lost Boys and kinda stopped to listen for a sec because it caught me off guard. And my daughter is like, "Dad, are you ok? You have a weird look on your face."
I was like, "yeah, sorry, was listening to the song" and then explained to her how it's from a really awesome vampire movie that we'll watch when she's older.

Another great tune from the great 80s!
I was fortunate to see Pat in concert during the mid-90s. Fantastic singer and great show!

I've listened to several of Disturbed's songs since the 90s, and even though the heavier stuff was never my thing, they definitely played a role during those decades. Their cover for Sound of Silence, is one of my favorites, I still listen to it now and again.
This video shows just how awesome some music artists really are. For context of the video, the girl was up front, singing along with the songs and David asked her to come up on the stage and sing with him, but she got scared. He stopped the concert to make sure she was ok before then going into a really great speech to everyone in the amphitheater. I think someone in the comments section of the YT video said it best:
"Amazing how a hard rock/metal singer can give a better speech than any politician has in the last 50 years."

Had a phase in high school and early college, then again in the early 2ks when I was listening to a lot of Jimmy Buffet. With his recent passing, I've been revisiting some albums I haven't listened to since then. While on YouTube, I stumbled on this duet, which I'd never heard, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I discovered Type O Negative back around '95 and have been a fan of the band ever since. Every October they become one of my go-to bands when I have time to sit and chill with some music. So it's October again and Type O are back on my listening list... and now I'm sharing another tune: Black No. 1 (Little Miss Scare -All)
Enjoy!
Enjoy!

Since Halloween / Samhain is almost upon us, why not a tune from that NY quartet with the cool makeup, costumes and stage show: KISS
Rocket Ride was probably the 1st or 2nd KISS tune that I really got into. Frehley's guitar really captivated my 8 year old ears!

Just a cool sounding piece o' music here!
The chant of "cat noises, cliff roots and woman's beards, etc" are the ingredients used to make the chain. Tyr was the one who fed Fenrir delicious foods from his sword.

From the movie Real Genius, "I'm Falling" montage by The Comsat Angels. No matter how many times I see this movie, it never fails to make me laugh. It was also one of the biggest influences on my love of science both in general and in school.
