Been too long since I threw some love to Motorhead.

Found my personal theme song. Seem rather ironic fitting that it's one from the 80s.

I Wanna Go Back - Eddie Money

I was listening to the radio
I heard a song reminded me of long ago
Back then I thought that things were never gonna change
It used to be that I never had to feel the pain
I know that things will never be the same now

I want to go back
And do it all over again
But I can't go back I know
I want to go back
'Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back I know

I recall hanging out on Friday night
The first slow dance
Hoping that I'll get it right
Back then I thought I'd never ever stand alone
It used to be that a lonely heart was never shown
I know that things will never be the same

I want to go back
And do it all over again
But I can't go back I know
I want to go back
'Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back I know

Can't go back
I can't go back
I know now that things will never be the same

I said
I want to go back
And do it all over again
But I can't go back I know
I want to go back
'Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back I know

I want to go back
And do it all over again
But I can't go back I know
I want to go back
'Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back I know

I want to go back
And do it all over again
But I can't go back I know
I want to go back
'Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back I know

No, no
And do it all over...

This one always makes the ears happy 8-)

Were you ever lost,
were you ever young,
were you ever safe little brother,
Do you see the sense of the evidence,
are you still part of the struggle,
Did you bang your head,
did you go to bed,
does it still feel pretty funky,
Lay back and dream,
in the death machine,
pity you still think like a monkey,

Bring it up, bring it down til you hit the ground,
Get a rude attitude, turn the world around,
Shall we see, shall we disagree,
Sing it all In The Name of Tragedy,

Did you ever lie,
ever wonder why,
nobody believed you honey,
What a pretty smile,
drive the people wild,
wonder who ran off with the money,
Do you ever change,
is it going to rain,
will it bring you pennies from heaven,
Do you know the score,
are you waiting for,
anxious for the new Armageddon,

Live it up, live it down til we hit the ground,
Cop a rude attitude from the world around,
Shall we see, shall we disagree,
Sing it all In The Name of Tragedy,

Marbles in your mouth,
what's it all about,
do you know the name of the winner,
If I was to go,
would you let it show,
life is not a TV dinner,
If you dream of me,
will you ever see,
do you want a piece of the action,
If I wasn't sure,
would you do it more,
help me to achieve an erection,

Get it up, get it down til you hit the ground,
Get a rude attitude, turn the world around,
Shall we see, shall we disagree,
All In The Name of Tragedy,

Sing it loud, sing it out, make the people shout,
Get it all, get it on, get it sorted out,
Be a seer, be sincere, can you really see,
All In The Name of Tragedy

I don't know about anyone else, but hearing songs at the age I am now, as opposed to when I was a kid, you pick up on lyrics and the actual words of the song, instead of just the beat and chorus. I remember singing songs without really giving them any deep thought back in the day. Innuendos and metaphors, or even the direct message, flew right over my head. These days, listening to some of the songs from back in the 80s and 90s, it's like, wow.

This one came down the line in a mix of 80s songs on Youtube and for the first time, I actually "listened" and heard the meaning behind it.

I remember that one from way back. That style of music was nowhere on my radar BITD so I never paid attention to the lyrics.

Great song, heard it on the radio yesterday, didn't realize the meaning until I watched the video and it's an extremely moving one.

Alzheimer's / dementia is the scariest disease, IMO. It is absolutely cruel.

The tune came out in 2000 but it is spot on for today's world: Brutal Planet - Alice Cooper

We're spinning round on this ball of hate
There's no parole, there's no great escape
We're sentenced here until the end of days
And then my brother there's a price to pay

We're only human, we were born to die
Without the benefit of reason why
We live for pleasure, to be satisfied
And now it's over there's no place to hide

Why don't you, come down to
It's such a brutal planet
It's such an ugly world
Why won't you, come down to

"This world is such perfection" (What a sight)
"It's just like paradise" (For my eyes)
"A truly grand creation" (What a sight)
"From up here it looks so nice" (For my eyes)

It's such a brutal planet
It's such a living hell
It was a holy garden
That's right where Adam fell
It's where the bite was taken
It's where we chose to sin
It's where we first were naked
This is where our death begins

We took advice from that deceiving snake
He said don't worry it's a piece of cake
And sent us swimming in a burning lake
Now we're abandoned here for heaven's sake

Why don't you, come down to
It's such a brutal planet
It's such an ugly world
Why won't you, come down to

"This world is such perfection" (What a sight)
"It's just like paradise" (For my eyes)
"A truly grand creation" (What a sight)
"From up here it looks so nice" (For my eyes)

Here's where we keep the armies
Here's where we write their names
Here's where the money god is
Here's our famous hall of shame
Here's where we starve the hungry
Here's where we cheat the poor
Here's where we beat the children
Here is where we pay the whore

Why don't you, come down to
It's such a brutal planet
It's such an ugly world
Why won't you, come down to

"This world is such perfection" (What a sight)
"It's just like paradise" (For my eyes)
"A truly grand creation" (What a sight)
"From up here it looks so nice" (For my eyes)

Right here we stoned the prophets
Built idols out of mud
Right here we fed the lions
Christian flesh and Christian blood
Down here is where we hung Him
Upon an ugly cross
Over there we filled the ovens
Right here the holocaust

Aaron Lewis, front man for the band Staind, moving into the country genre. Does a solid job, imo.

When art imitates life; spot on with today's society.
