I'm not normally too interested in minis gaming but I found one that has captured my attention!

The Battle of Hastings 1066—Chainmail - Up to three players on a side command the Harold's Anglo-Saxons or William's Normans in this recreation of Hastings.

Thursday @ 1000 lasts 4 hours.

Big selling point here: No Experience Required!

Here is a video with backstory and tactical display of how the battle played out:

Friday 7pm-11pm: Crows in the Pine (Castles and Crusades RPG)

Saturday 7pm-11pm: Crows in the Pine
I'll be going after a seat in your Friday session. The Saturday session looks to have only 1 seat left so I'll (hopefully) have better odds with Friday.

As of today, there are 2 seats left for my Sunday session.

I got a message from Jay Lopez (BigPerm) that he and his 2 sons grabbed seats in my Sat game, that's one reason it filled up so quick. If he hadn't signed up, I don't know if it would have anyone else until Silver registration.

Yeah I noticed. A few of the ones I have eyes on in the mornings, on all days, have either already sold out (waiting for silver seats to open) or they have limited seats. Going to have to be on the ball next Saturday to get into events since EVERYONE will have a shot once silver seats open up.

I saw the name Jay Lopez 3 times in your Saturday. I saw he also did that in another game (AS&SH, I think) session I had my eyes on.

Nearly everything I had eyes on for Thursday is booked or has 1 seat left. Spent some time this afternoon combing through the listings for alternatives.

Another thing I've been wondering is noise level in the Evergreen room where the C&C is based.
I ran and played in Evergreen a few years ago and it got quite noisy. Hoping that isn't an issue this time. There will be 10 games (including mine) going on @ 1000 on Friday, 9 games (including mine @ 1000 on Saturday, and 7 (including mine @ 1100) on Sunday. That's A LOT of people....

Yep, hence the reason we started grabbing Gold badges; 2024 may be a year to plan for that if you want to get a leg up.

Any of the open rooms, even with partitions, will have noise issues, I'm expecting it and will adjust as best as possible.

Dammit. A 3 year layoff must've addled my brain for remembering why we elevated to gold badges. And the price hike for gold badges.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. Really hope I don't have to shout at my own table.

Yeah and especially with the influx and increase in attendance, having the Gold doesn't guarantee events, but it does help to smooth the edges before Silvers get into the mix and allows more opportunity.

Dude... I just noticed that of the 58 C&C events on the schedule for Gary Con, only 3 have no seats available as of today. I know more will open up on Saturday for Silver registration but as of right now, 3 have no seats available. Two of them belong to US! Your Saturday 7 PM and my Saturday 10AM (four hour games) and another game that lasts 2 hours. Don't know about you but I think that's pretty damned cool. 8-)

Yep. Based on what I've seen on the C&C Facebook group, since the big debacle with WotC and the OGL, there has been a HUGE influx of C&C players, or those at least interested in the system. I watched a couple videos from TLG's Twitch channel, and Steve said that they saw one of the biggest increase in sales for C&C over the last month or so.

Game like C&C, DCC, and Pathfinder, those d20 alternatives to 5e, saw a major increase with WotC's move, and that honestly, is a good thing, and imo, way overdue. I had a feeling that the D&D5e balloon was going to eventually burst, much like it did when 3.x came out, got really popular, then faded out and Paizo became the big dog with Pathfinder. But I wasn't expecting WotC to do what they did, they ended that train much sooner than expected. There are still plenty of players for D&D, but enough have shuffled off that it made a dent, for sure.
