Oh my gawd, RoP.
Since I haven't watch any of it, I had no idea how bad the dialogue was. He's not wrong, that is some seriously awful writing.

Emphasis mine.
Trust me. Save those hours of your life for something worthwhile. To quote Saruman, "It would be wise, my friend."
As one who reads, you will be sorely disappointed at the poor writing. As a devotee of The Professor's Middle Earth, you will be outright insulted at the horrendous fan fiction masquerading as something from Tolkien's legendarium.

It's been a while since I've seen a good video bringing reality to the forefront, the speaker, Dan Pena, is on point.
A couple of choice quotes that stuck out:
"If your adult child needs a safer space to avoid offensive words, you failed as a parent."
"If anything in my seminar offends you, your parents raised a pussy."
"Being honest may not get you many friends but it will always get you the right ones."

This made me think of "If you need a safe space in a TTRPG then you probably need another hobby."

Haha, 100%. The fact that rpgs now have sections in them for "safety tools" just shows how far the hobby has fallen. When RPGs were first introduced, you had to, more or less, be smart to engage with them. The games coming out in 70s and 80s were designed by folks with high levels of intelligence. Just look at all the mental hoops required for making characters in some of them, never mind running the game and all of the system mechanics involved.
They came from a war gaming background where logic and reason were the primary drivers behind exploration and adventure. Now we have games solely based on sexual orientation and adventures comprised of working in a cafe' selling lattes and croissants to customers; for f*cks sake. Personally, that aspect and fan base in the hobby can kick rocks. I have zero desire to engage with mentally soft players looking to coddle their feewings through personification of their game characters with their 15 pages of fan-fic backstory.
No thanks.
By the way, if you haven't yet seen my post to you in Facebook about joining the D&D meme group, you gotta check it out. The memes and posts in that group are effin' hilarious.

This is why most Big Tech companies suck. I stopped using Google email and other free services years ago, companies like this are just parasites. As the saying goes, "If you're not buying a products or services, then you are their product or service."
And then of course, in the middle of the lecture, some NPCs decide to disrupt everything with their faux outrage. Shock and surprise to see blue hair.

Funny how the "blue hairs" who caused the disruptions, presumably as a protest to get attention, can't actually speak to what their issues are. Its looney tunes time if they take offense at something like men, on average, are taller than women and have more muscle mass.
The guy up on stage speaking about the culture mentioned about how "conservatives" can't speak. How does he define "conservative" I wonder. I think a better term would be "common sense" when referring to facts such as men, on average, are taller than women and have more muscle mass. From what I see of some "conservatives" around here and in the news, many of them are just as looney tunes as the "blue hairs" but on different topics.
I think the loonies need a hobby. Like pounding sand.
