I'll keep you guys posted. We've been grousing about GaryCon for several years now, and the continued mess that they make of just about everything except the on-site management of the live con itself, has certainly soured many of us on it as the problems continue and/or progressively get worse each year.

Well... I didn't get any emails about Silver registration blowing up so I reckon TTE got it figured out. I'm glad folks could grab tickets for events.
Speaking of tickets for events... since AL has 559 events on the schedule which seems like spam to me, I did a quick tour through the events and tallied the following:
559 of the 1,970 events (AL, PF, RPG, seminars, etc) listed on the GC schedule so AL so that's 28.38% of all GCXII events are AL games
309 of the 559 AL events have tickets remaining = 55.28% of events did not fill up
69 of the 559 events have no seats taken at all = 12.34% of events had no one grab a ticket
That leaves plenty of room for walk ups and same day registration folks but, IMO, it does appear as though AL spammed the events listing. Jus' sayin'.

Thanks!
If time permits, I'll examine the numbers again on 23-Mar to see how they change with a few weeks for additional event registration.

Got an email this afternoon that my Friday event, The Wreck of the Bellerophon, running from 8 PM to midnight has cancelled. I understand the reasoning the GM provided... but this now means I have no games as of 6 PM. That's a huge hole that just got punched into my schedule. I looked at what remains and nothing really grabs my attention.
For conventions, I very much like to plan things and have a schedule. I guess I'll have to wander and see if I can find a happening table or run into some cool folks and hang a while. *Le sigh*

My Thursday morning Dark Tower board game got cancelled today.
It was only an hour and a half, but still, I was really looking forward to playing. Oh well, looks like a trip to the Egg Harbor Cafe will be in order, instead, before coming back to the dealer room and my game at Noon. I hope everyone cancelling gets it out of their system this week and we don't see any further cancellations after this weekend.

I've been a bit annoyed with the GC Facebook group, at least the thread that Luke posted today. I get some people don't want to attend due to the virus. That's all well and good, if you decide not to attend, so be it. But why come in and crap all over everyone else who still wants to attend? Some of these people, weren't even planning to attend this year anyways, yet for some reason, feel the need to scream about how the con needs to be cancelled or rescheduled.
If you're a GM and you decide to cancel your trip, I get posting in the thread, making an announcement for the folks who were playing in your games, but some of these people just seem to want everyone else to be as miserable as they are for not being able to attend or making the decision to no longer attend.
I just don't get it.

I've not read the FB thread... but one thing I know for certain from observing people for decades is some people are just assholes.
I saw on the GC forums a post where the poster said something like, "Luke may hold lives in his hands." My first thought was 'Hey fucko - that's some dramatic bullshit there.' If GCXII goes on as scheduled, it is each individual's personal responsibility whether or not to attend.

Welp, it's a done deal. Garycon has been cancelled.
From the website: GC Website
The Geneva Resort will be refunding room reservations that were already paid. Luke is going to work out some sort of discount for next year for badges or something, there's no concrete decision on this yet. Read the details on the website.
Have to try and see what the airlines will do about flights and refunds.
