One day I'll get there, and this wasn't the time I was going anyways. But I drowned my empathetic sorrows in Guinness instead - figuring it'll just kick any virus's ass. :D

Even though the con was a bust, I still managed to pic up a couple of things that I had planned on getting while there.

Ordered a copy of the adventure, Trouble at Loch Jineeva from the Garycon Bazaar and also managed to grab a cool art print from Del Teigeler, who has designed a ton of awesome old school artwork for a variety of RPGs like Astonishing Swordsmen and Sorcerers of Hyperborea.
Trouble brews at Loch Jineeva! Refugee mountain dwarves have descended from the Grand Winter Palace of the Dwarf King located high atop Mount Gygantor. As they are renowned for their isolationism, this behavior is most unusual for these dwarves.

The demi-human refugees claim that their edifice was invaded by a dragon. They say the wyrm annihilated their finest warriors and drove out the rest. To make matters worse, the dwarven king is missing, presumed dead by most. Now, your party have been assembled to resolve the trouble at Loch Jineeva.

Saw this on K&KA and figured I'd post it here since we us Tabletop Events to register for Gary Con.

Yeah, saw a blurb about that somewhere online. I'm wondering now what the situation for registration will be, for GaryCon moving forward. Not sure what other conventions used, it will be interesting to see what develops.

Do you want to try and attend in 2021?

As it stands, maybe, while leaning towards yes.

It looks like we'll be getting a discount on next year's badges and we'll have have first pick of the same badge tier, in this case, gold, without the need to fight to get one. Assuming I can grab a room at the Geneva when room registration opens up, I think it's worth giving it another go. It will be curious to see how event registration is handled, though, since TableTop seems to be floundering and unsure of what they will do.

All of that said, it could be that after 2021, taking a break from GaryCon could be the way to go for a few years. I wouldn't mind doing GenCon at least once, Bryan goes every year so it would be cool to hang out in some gaming with him again. Getting back to Origins could be fun, we've always enjoyed that one, though it definitely wouldn't be for "old-school" gaming; very little of that shows up in their events.

We've hit Garycon for five years now, a change of pace might be nice.

Yeah... no need to waste the discount towards the 2021 badge. Sounds like TTE is closing its doors. Hopefully there is another option to use for registration to keep from returning to the complete shit show it was circa 2016.

I like the idea of a change of pace after 2021. We've hit on it before but a con in a warmer climate would be nice.

GenCon expanded into Lucas Oil stadium, where the Indianapolis Colts play, last year. Sure would be nice if that relieved the absolute crush of humanity that was there in 2014, the last year I attended. Bryan's insights on more recent GenCons would be handy.

Origins was very spacious in the convention center. The dinner options within a few blocks were really good! BD's Mongolian BBQ was the best!
