Song du jour was one of the most popular threads on the previous version of 3Ps. Since the 3Ps has now returned, I figure why not restart the thread?

Now rather than begin with some Judas Priest style 'eavy meh-ttle badassery or some doom / goth tunes from the Drab Four (a.k.a. Type O Negative), I thought of a song whose title is absolutely D&D relatable. The song in mind was released in 1979, not too long after (A)D&D saw the light of day. Two years later, the same band released a concept album that focused around a boy's adventure to becoming a hero. I'm thinking at least one of the members of the band in question had to have experimented with (A)D&D in some way or another during that period in their careers.

The song is Charisma. The band is KISS.

Nice man, welcome back, nice selection to kick things off. Adding to the list, an old one but IMO, a good one. Love the guitar.

After posting on DF about favorite Christmas Carols I realized this would make a good opportunity to post a selection of some of my favs from Gary Hoey, to this thread. If anyone is interested in the full album, just look for Ho! Ho! Hoey. It's definitely one of my favorites to listen to in the car to and from work, during the holiday season.

I think my favorite chapter in Fellowship of the Rings is A Journey in the Dark. That particular chapter was translated into the film version and expanded upon in the Extended release of Fellowship. I found the music for that scene on The Complete Recordings for the LotR Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack by Howard Shore and figured it would make a worthy addition here. Enjoy!

This is a cover by a metal band I never heard of, Dissona... the cover I've heard of though :sam:
This was a pretty good cover with a wee bit of heavy metal flavor:
"I have a fife, and a drum to play!"

I'd like to know what beer he's swigging at the end. :D

"And now for something completely different."
These are cool, I've never quite seen anything quite like 'em.

That first one rocked. It reminded me of traditional Irish punk. Only Mongolian. And those bikers were hardcore for real is my guess. Nice!

Here's a rockin' video from 1986 by one of my 80s era metal faves, W.A.S.P. Love the guitar solos!
