I ran across a new RPG, originally a French RPG but it's been translated to English and published/sold by Chaosium. Every once in a while I'll stumble on an RPG like this, something really unique, sometimes it's interesting, sometimes not. After reading through this one, I thought it sounded like a game worth owning just due to the nature of it and went ahead and ordered the core book, GM screen, and print copies of the three available accessories/adventures, I received the PDFs for free.

It may seem a bit odd, but it's actually really well done. Low magic, in the form of shamanism and "dark creatures" actually exist in the world, along side normal creatures and other tribes and humanoids. One of the things that I look for these days in an RPG is simplicity and Wurm has a simple system and simple character sheet.

In most cases, in order to perform a successful action, a character must roll 2d6 and get a result superior or equal to a Threshold that determines the difficulty of the action. If the character possesses a special Strength that can help him, he adds 1d6 to his dice roll. If he’s afflicted with a Weakness that may hamper him, he will subtract 3 from his roll.
Difficulty Thresholds range from Very Easy (3) to Impossible (13).

That actually looks quite cool. I really like the art style.

There was a cool article in Dragon #68 that outlined running D&D in an ice age setting that I always liked. Never got around to putting it to use, but I always liked the concept! :D

Nice, I'll have to check that one out in Dragon Archive.

Got in my books earlier this week. I read through the special adventure a day or so back, it makes for a great introductory session. I'm thinking of running it at GaryCon if I think it can be done in 4-6 hours. I'll have to read back through and gauge it.
