TL;DR - It's what Black Panther could have been if Black Panther had not been boring. I liked it. Go see it.
It's good, and worth the ticket to see in theaters. I only ever watch 2D, so I won't be talking about any 3D versions of films, ever. The film plot is very similar to Black Panther, which I think is one of the worst Marvel films made. I know I'm in the minority on that, but anytime your villain is more interesting than your hero you have a problem. Aquaman does not suffer from this. The fact that I liked it this much reinforces my belief that Black Panther could have been great, if only they had tried. Both Black Manta and Ocean Master are in the movie and they both have excellent motivations, but the movie is most assuredly about Aquaman. Khal Drogo turns in a great performance and I love how they portray his powers in the movie. In all seriousness, Jason Momoa, has really upped his game since his early days; and I'm looking forward to seeing what else he can do.

Good to hear, Sam. I thought the trailer looked good and the short time I saw Manta on screen looked really cool. As for BP, I just felt like it was a weird movie plot. I never finished watching the entire movie, stopping about a third of the way through and just never had the inclination to revisit. I can somewhat agree on the sentiment of about the film.

My oldest, the 16yo, went to see it with her boyfriend. She is a Marvel movie snob, and gave this one a 7 out of 10 on her Marvel movie scale. 
She felt it was the best DC movie, with Wonder Woman in second. The boy thought WW edged out Aquaman. My daughter said that she liked that Aquaman was action packed.
