As it turns out, I didn't buy the core rulebook, but Denizens of the North. I didn't see past the 50% off sale price, apparently :/
Allan.
Well, if you decide you want the Core book, I know the folks will be in attendance at GCXII. I'm actually planning to play at least one, if not more, of the sessions.
On a separate note, I was doing some reading over the core book this weekend. I thought the magic section and some of the details were pretty cool.
Below are a couple of excerpts:
Runic Magic
Spirit Magic
Song Magic

Recently announced:
For the last 2+ years we have been working on a very exciting project, a Celtic RPG set in the Fate of the Norns universe. It is a stand alone RPG, but is also compatible with Ragnarok. It uses the Runic-Game-System (RGS) but applies all of the key learnings and improvements that we have collected over the past 7 years, so we dub it RGS 3.0. The setting spans the 8th through 10th centuries, with a focus on the latter dates. Everything has been meticulously researched in history and mythology, so you'll be learning a lot with daily posts until we launch. Today starts the countdown to our next Kickstarter: THE CHILDREN OF ERIU
The world belonging to the Children of Eriu has a long an mysterious history. The first age is known as the Mythological cycle, five waves of invasions and the rise of the Tuatha Dé Danan. The second age is called the Red Branch Cycle, where the early kings go to war for the high throne of Tara, with the bloodiest conflict between the kingdoms of Ulaid and Connachta. The third age is referred to as the Ossianic Cycle. Cormac Mac Art creates the Fianna, a coalition of warbands for the protection of the kingdoms of Eriu. The fourth and current age is described as the Cycle of Kings, the kingdoms are fractured, and both the White God and the Vikings threaten to change everything!
The Children of Eriu is a celtic RPG that spans the 6 kingdoms.
Eriu (Ireland)- The Éireannaigh, once “united” under the rule of a High King and Queen of Tara are now divided. Their ancestral gods have returned, empowering their mortal and immortal agents to bring down the church of Eiru and unite all the clans under their banner to kill off the Vikings.
Breizh (Brittany)- After the death of their last king, the Breizh kingdom is divided between his two murderers, the Counts Gurwant and Pascweten. Long ago they repelled the Romans, now they face a new and more dangerous enemy from within.
Alba (Scotland)- This is an ancient land facing the birth of a new kingdom. The recent war saw Constantine II kill Giric “the Usurper” allowing him to build a strong powerbase, changing his kingdom’s name from Pictland to Alba.
Mann (Isle of Mann)- The island and the surrounding lands were, and forever are in the care of the sea god Manannán mac Lir. With invaders looming on the horizon, the King Elatha, granted the islanders food and protection, but in exchange the Fomorian erected a fortress beneath the island.
Cymru (Wales)- After generations of war, Cymru is a fractured kingdom. Long ago King Arthur drove the oppressors out and liberated his kinsmen. Now another professes to be the hero reborn, and many flock to his banner. But the champion Y Mab Darogan rallies his own forces in a land of reawakened magic.
Kernow (Cornwall)- Kernow is a kingdom without a king, and a tyrant from Wessex seeks to strangle and subjugate the Cornish people. These are stout and hearty folk, kinsmen of Jack the Giant Killer. But dark powers court the nobles, looking for an opportunity to claim this region of Midgard as their own. To oppose them, many seek the holy relics belonging to the Saint-King Geraint.
This is the map that comes with the game, illustrated by our very own talented Soni. We continue the countdown to the Kickstarter!

Sounds like it would be a good supplement to an Ars Magica game set in the British Isles, thanks Jay!
And that is one gorgeous map!
Allan.

Agreed, I'm looking forward to the KS.

Don't know that much about the game, but I really dig Celtic supplements, and that looks like a good one!

Yeah, unfortunately it's been over for a while now, back at the beginning of the year I believe. I almost went in on it, but decided to wait and just pick the book up (if it was available) at GaryCon this year...but of course that went to pot, so no chance there. Looking online, it doesn't appear the book is available yet, not sure when it's due.

I red this over on Reddit:
The Children of Eriu is up on Kickstarter right now guys. It is a standalone rpg created by the same people who made Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok which is a Viking themed rpg played using rune stones instead of dice. Children of Eriu however is a game centered around 10th century Ireland rather then Viking Age Scandinavia. It is also played with the rune stone system. So for any fans of Fate of the Norns and its system or just fans of Irish mythology and legend then I'd recommend taking a look at this book. They are also offering a system agnostic lore book as well as a celtic themed tarot card deck if you are interested in the setting but not the game.
This makes me feel like I could play in a game that has a ROAR kind of feel. Which makes me smile.
Or maybe sail in the Gráinne Mhaol era. Though I think ROAR is pre-tenth century and the Pirate Queen is after it. Still.
