One of my favorite shows EVER! Seasons 1-4 are simply great. Season 5 suffered from some network shuffling and shenanigans but 1-4 are awesome. If you've never watched this show and are looking for something to binge... go for it.

Here's a lengthy (75 minutes +/-) overview of the series which makes me want to watch it again.

Perhaps I'll do so later this year when the weather up here turns shitty.

We’ve been watching B5 as a family over dinner since last August or so. We’re about 40% of the way through S4, and everyone’s still enjoying it :)

I’ve dug up inexpensive copies of JMS’ three B5 short stories from Amazing Stories, and they’re quite good (as expected!): https://babylon5.fandom.com/wiki/Short_Stories

I’ll probably dig out the comics series soon too.

Allan.

Never watched B5, but space themed sci-fi shows were never really my thing. Trek and all that, just never grabbed me to the point of continuously watching. I enjoyed Firefly back in the day, and The Expanse in the last couple of years has really been the only one I've watched. Jen really enjoys Star Trek and similar shows, she may enjoy watching this one.

Emphasis mine.
Just let her know that some episodes are stand alone, some are stand alone that plant seeds that sprout later down the road, and many are part of the greater story arc. Patience will be rewarded!

Great writing on B5! I enjoyed the pacing of the various story arcs.

I loved that show. What I loved about it was events in season one were felt all the way through season 5. Few show these days have the story arcs that B5 had in the day.

Few people these days have the attention span to appreciate the internal consistency of the arcs B5 had in the day. ;)
