"What can men do against such reckless hate?" Theoden, dejected, asked more to the air than to any man.
"Ride out with me," Araggorn said.
"Meet the enemy," Legolas added.
"And smite their arses!" Gimli shouted.
"For death and glory," Theoden added with renewed purpose.
"No, you idiot! For Rohan and your people," an exaperated Aragorn scolded. "You're supposed to be a King of Men!"

For Cap'n Blood who said,
Frodo regained his balance and asked, "What do you want?"
"A little more caution from you. That is no trinket you carry," Strider said.
"I carry nothing," Frodo protested.
"Indeed," Strider said as he moved to extinguish several of the candles in the room. "I can avoid being seen if I wish, but to disappear entirely - that is a rare gift."
"Who are you? Frodo asked.
"Are you frightened?" Strider asked in return.
After a brief hesitation, Frodo answered, "Yes."
"Not nearly frightened enough. I know what hunts you," Strider said as cut his eyes towards the door.
Within seconds the door swung forcefully open and into the room raced Merry and Pippin with Samwise leading them and shouting, "Back off! Or I'll pound you like a pyroclastic flow, longshanks!"
"Um, that's right. He will!" Merry said as he held a candlestick as threateningly as a hobbit could.
'What's a pyrotastic... no, that's not right... a pyrospastic... no, that's not it... pyrogastric flow... no, that doesn't sound pleasant at all.' Pippin thought as he held his pint mug and absentmindedly sipped from it.
Strider almost smirked as he sheathed his sword, "You have a stout heart little hobbit but that will not save you." He turned to Frodo and said, "You can no longer wait for the wizard. They are coming."
"You draw far too much attention to yourself, Mr. Underhill," Strider said as he pushed Frodo into one of the private rooms of The Prancing Pony and closed the door behind them.Captain_Blood wrote: ↑January 3rd, 2023, 11:00 am Oh you need to work 'pyroclastic flow' into one of your re-imagined Tolkien quotes.

Frodo fell upon the blasted earth of Mount Doom, exhausted physically by toil and mentally by the presence of The Ring. Sam plopped down on the ground beside him.
“What I wouldn’t give for two pints of my old Gaffer’s home brew and a nice, big cake right now!” Sam said. “How about you, Mr. Frodo?”
Frodo’s breathing had become raspy due to thirst. His limbs twitched with the effort of trying to stand, to resume his march to the Cracks of Doom. But he could not get up.
“Pints and cakes and pints and cakes,” Sam said with a faint smile of remembrance. “I may not be carrying pints or cakes, but if getting back to The Shire for some means getting you straight up that path, THEN I CAN CARRY YOU!”
