When I was RPGing with my first group in college, a few of us packed up and attended a fantasy LARP in N. Ga. It was fun for the weekend, but something that would have been a regular thing. Several of my gaming group were regular SCA members and went to the events on the weekend.
This video about the LARP organization, Epic Empires, in Germany came across my YT feed today and looked pretty damn cool. This looks like the sort of event, that I would be willing to try out.
