Per info on FB and Tabletop Events, MC West for 2025 is a GO.
With that in mind, after last year's experience with a terribly high number of stinky people and the subsequent emails I had with the con organizers, I searched the MC West health and safety guidelines just to be sure the mention of hygiene was still present after said communication. Here it is:
Mythic Con Health and Safety Guidelines
Personal health and safety are of extreme importance to Mythic Con.
While we do not require the use of masks, COVID-19 and the flu are still with us and are very contagious. Hand sanitizer and disposable masks are available at con registration if you require them, and we highly encourage convention goers to wear masks while in the convention areas to prevent the spread of disease.
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for everyone at Mythic Con. While we take care to handle some things, most aspects are related to personal choices and how they affect others. Here are some guidelines that we ask all attendees to follow:
Please take care of yourself:
- eat
- sleep
- hydrate regularly
- take breaks throughout the day
- ...and please bathe, wear clean clothes and use deodorant. We do not wish to perpetuate the "smelly gamer" stereotype!
Respect the personal choices of others. This includes respecting people's choices about wearing a mask or not. If you have any concerns about someone's health, please talk to a member of staff.
Do not attend Mythic Con if you are sick. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home and rest.
If you become ill during the event, please isolate yourself and seek medical attention if necessary.
Pay attention to your surroundings. Be aware of your surroundings at all times, especially at night. If you feel unsafe, please find a member of the staff.
Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. There are many people at Mythic Con who are happy to help you, including members of staff, volunteers, and other attendees.
We hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience at Mythic Con. Please email us at info@gamesforallevents.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Emphasis mine.

A while back I noticed on TableTop Events that language had been included regarding cleanliness / hygiene on the MC. Good on the Mythic Con folks for taking action on a stinky problem per my feedback sent March 2024.
However, sometime between 14-Nov-24 and today, no such language in the MC West 2025 listing. Everything is the same except the
bolded portion above is no longer present. I followed up this evening with the MC West folks using the email exchange from March 2024 to inquire if cleanliness / hygiene language will be included on the convention listing for attendees' awareness. I'll post any info I receive.
After the multiple daily stinking clouds I was subjected to at MC West in March 2024, my patience for it is now zero. If the same thing happens in March 2025, that will be my last year attending.

Understandable. If I had to guess though, I would think the same people who can't be bothered to bathe and conduct themselves with proper hygiene, are probably the same ones that wouldn't even read the information on the site in the first place. Even if they did, I imagine hey won't even suspect that a message such as that, would be aimed at them because they don't even realize they have an odor.
Hopefully it's a better turn out this coming year.

As for MC removing the language that was in there, yeah, that seems pretty shady. Guessing someone complained or got offended by that and it was removed, there's no other logical reason to remove it.

And 3+ days after sending my email about the removal of cleanliness / hygiene language, still no response. Curious.

I'm guessing you won't get one. They made a decision to remove the previous text, probably because they would rather not offend someone that complained about it or found it offensive, instead of promoting civil hygiene.

You're probably right. We'll find out in just over 2 months.
