Ran across this video by Dungeon Craft; if I had the opportunity to play with a DM who was running 5e like this, I would have no problem playing. Good advice, not only for running modern D&D but really any (A)D&D game.

Some good stuff there. I don't agree with everything the guy said since I like individual initiatives determined every round but his approach to getting rid of optional junk in 5nowflake to enhance playability over min-maxing was cool.
