And, the price of the badges do not include events, you still have to pay for events you register for, which is why the badge prices are lower than GC.
Does a person with a VIG badge get early registration for events like Gold badges at GC?
Necron 99 wrote: July 10th, 2023, 8:30 amUnfortunately, I also looked them up on Facebook but was a bit put out at a couple posts from the person that heads up the event. Pretty divisive posts dealing with social current events during last month and "the message" was pretty clear.

It's not a deal breaker for attending the con, but I do wish people would just game, that's all, just run/play games and have fun, leave everything else at the door. At least when Luke and Co. made their post, they did it tastefully and in a non-divisive way.
Emphasis mine. Yeah... everyone needs to just be cool. Part of why I like gaming so much is to get away from real world shit. No agendas, identity politics, either way. Everything else will take care of itself.

Yes, the VIG folks get an early registration.

Apparently this guy thinks that if you disagree with certain agendas and identity politics, you shouldn't attend his convention and made it a point to post about it.

I'm not entirely convinced he understands how freedom works in the US, you know, home of the free and all that. Based on some of the posts on his personal FB profile, he sounds a bit unhinged and kinda comes off like a tool. Probably too much time drinking the MSM kool-aid.

However, like everyone else, he's free to his own opinions.

Discovered another heretofore unknown convention: Mid South Con in Memphis, TN

https://midsouthcon.org/

IIRC, attendance at the most recent event was 2,200+/-.

Nice, I noticed on their gaming page of the site, under RPGs, they mention Castles and Crusades, alongside D&D, PF, and others.

https://midsouthcon.org/running_games/

I just read this:

Running Games at MidSouthCon – Like most Gaming and SF conventions, MidSouthCon is run by people who volunteer their time and energy, and (in the eyes of the gaming department), none are more appreciated than the people who run games at the con. Whether you are an old hand at running games at conventions or a complete beginner, you will find GMing at MidSouthCon a rewarding experience. Benefits: Besides the ever important social aspects and good karma, there are some more tangible benefits to running games at MidSouthCon:

GM Discount Membership — If you run 4 hours at MidSouthCon membership is half price. If you run 8 hours you get a choice: either only have to pay $10.00, or you get a T-shirt. If you run 12 hours you get a basic membership for free, and if you run 16 or more hours you get in for free and get a T-shirt (subject to availability). Banquet tickets and the ConSuite Giveaway may be purchased at their regular price.

Food and Drink — GM’s gain accesses to the food and drinks available in the Operations room.

Combining Volunteer and GM benefits – GM & volunteer hours can be combined when calculating benefits, so let us know if you are volunteering as well as running games.

Emphasis mine. Not a bad deal there.

And the dates are March 22-24, 2024.... the same weekend as Gary Con. ;) 8-)

A four-day ticket is $40, rooms are $133 a night.

I would like to see an event list from prior years; if the majority of the "hundreds of hours of gaming" are mostly 5e and PF...

Yeah - I don't want to attend a smaller con that is a 5e and PF love fest.

I found this gaming list for the 2022 Mid South Con: https://midsouthcon.org/gaming/schedule/
Looks a bit incomplete for a con with 2,200 attendees but not dominated by 5e and PF. I might have to inquire on the con's FB page for info.

You're correct, not dominated, but the offerings, in general, were pretty lacking. I didn't see any C&C, or PF for that matter, offered. Mostly 5e, Savage Worlds, some One Ring, Warhammer, some other RPGs I'm not familiar with. Fair amount of board games and minis.

Probably not the sort of con that would benefit 4 days, looks more like a weekend gig.

Btw, I don't know if you ran across this response from Chuck on the C&C Facebook page. You asked if there was any update about 7 weeks ago, and then Chuck responded with this 6 weeks ago, but I didn't see it until today when I was reading through all of the responses.
I am working diligently to secure us a venue, its been a challenge haha. One of the biggest things affecting that is venue availability, but I am in talks with a few places in Little Rock. That said we plan on putting out an update as soon as we have more. I can say at this point it most likely going to be after April and before October.
So it looks like the Trolls might be shooting for something after GaryCon.

I saw no such response to my question from 7 weeks ago. I saw no replies at all to my post. Where was his response located?
