Sounds like an awesome time was had for both of you. I've looked at the Kids on Bikes rules a few times, I probably wouldn't run it, but playing would be fun.

NTX events update from Gary this morning:
Good Morning (in Texas) all NTX Friends and Family! Pre-sale $5 tickets will go on sale today. Please remember a few things.

First, the ticket availability for the listed games is only half of the total available seats. The remaining seat will be open to everyone for free on April 15th. The pre-sale is deigned to help people get a guaranteed seat to a game they want to play. If you don't get it today, try again on April 15th.

Second, the game list this morning DOES NOT represent all of the games that will be listed. Last year we had almost 300 game listings. The current list isn't even a third of that right now. Many (let's rephrase.... MOST) of the special guests don't have their game even listed yet. Once ticket sales start this morning I will still be releasing games to the list as I receive them. I MIGHT make announcements when special guest games are listed but I may not. I would suggest keeping an eye on Tabletop for new additions often. I will give this pro tip, I usually work many hours during the week. You best bet to see new listings is going to be Saturday mornings. :)

Third, we are currently at 361 attendees registered for the convention this year. If you are a regular and have not purchased your tickets yet, you need to quickly. We are fast approaching 500.

Also, if you see any errors in game listings or need something changed, just IM me and I'll get it fixed.

I once again want to thank everyone for their support and excitement about the convention. We love putting it on for everyone and we are looking forward to seeing all of you in June. I can't wait!
Allan.

Copy that.

GEN CON INDY 2024 ARRIVES THIS WEEK FOR HISTORIC, SOLD-OUT CONVENTION

Gen Con Indy 2024 is a sold-out show -- for the first time in the convention's history, all badges have been sold and no walk-up badge sales will be available. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons, the convention will feature a slate of retrospective events, special guests, a pop-up D&D Museum, and an exclusive early chance to purchase the hotly anticipated 2024 Player's Handbook.

Gen Con has been in Indianapolis since 2003, after outgrowing the facilities in Wisconsin. This year, over 60,000 attendees have bought badges. Gen Con is one of the world's largest tabletop conventions, which launched in 1968 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Emphasis mine.
Too many people! The hotels will be stuffed. Eating anywhere beside a food truck will be a challenge due to too many people. GenCon even expanded to the football stadium where the Indianapolis Colts play. To quote Bilbo from the Fellowship film, "NOOO, Thank you!!!"

With the flu or bog-standard con crudd, it's pretty obvious when someone is sick. The asymptomatic component to COVID is just some sneaky shit. I'd already decided to be done with "sardines-in-a-can" conventions by head count and spacing. This is just another affirmation.

Speedy recovery to Mr. Devall!

Just listened to a TLG chat from a day ago in which it was mentioned that 78,000 badges were sold at Gen Con..... "NOOO, Thank you!!!"
