Ok, so my schedule is changed a bit from above. I snagged a few tickets that popped up last night that I'm interested in playing so it shifted my prior lineup. Events in bold are tickets I already have. I also went ahead and snagged a ticket for The Bonecollectors for Quinn, I figure if he doesn't want to play, he can just refund the ticket before the April 15th registration.

THU
0800 (GMing) The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (Advanced Fighting Fantasy)
1300 Where the Spirits Dwell (CoC)

FRI
1000 The Bonecollectors (CoC)
1400 Mega Mutant Mayhem (DCC/Umerica)
1900 Into the Mines of Moria (C&C)

SAT
0900 Picnic in the Pines (DCC/Weird Frontiers)
1300 The Oblation Slab of the Hepatomancer (Hyperborea)
1900 (GMing) By the Will of the Gods (Lex Arcana)

The Bonecollectors
Medieval Pulp Cthulhu! Something wrong is happening in the woods. Players will play knights, squires, bowmen, men-at- arms, or camp followers from Lancaster and York forces on that cold Palm Sunday of 29 March 1461.

Mega Mutant Mayhem
Run for your life . The blasted Wastes of old Dallas are crawling with all sorts of things trying to kill you. Lord Reusell captured you and took you from your village, and dropped you in the middle of hell. You've got to work together to survive, and make your way to safety. From zero, to hero or a shallow unmarked grave in Malice?

Into the Mines of Moria
You read Professor Tolkien’s books. You watched the Bakshi and Jackson films. Now play as a member of The Fellowship of the Ring as they seek to pass the Doors of Durin and survive the Chamber of Mazarbul. May the blessing of Elves and Men and Free Folk go with you!

Picnic in the Pines
Saddle up, cowboys and cowgirls. Cosmic horror awaits you in the Wild West.

All of the early registration slots are filled. Not bad for submitting the event a few days after early registration was opened. :)

I submitted my two game sessions and so far, neither one has been approved. I've not seen any further new games added either. The regular registration opens up on April 15th, I hope any remaining sessions for games will be added prior. I have a few backup games lined up in the event my sessions don't get processed through.

Saw a post on K&K by someone named BadMike. Goes like this:

Sorry haven't been on the K&K boards in awhile. I'll try to check in at least once a week the next couple months to answer any questions....

We will be having the K&K social as usual. The 11th year, I believe. I don't think I'm running a game Thursday night so I'll try and pop in.

No masks and no Vaxx cards. You can where a mask if you want, and if a DM wants all masked at his game he has to put that in the game description. Otherwise, you won't see too many masks at the con, I suspect.

Yes, there are a lot of 5E games. It's the most popular version of the game now, but we have a lot of every other edition of D&D except for 4E going at the con. Also a lot of dead games like Gangbusters and early Traveller, plus cool stuff like Middle Earth, Paranoia, etc.

Most rooms are semi-private with two tables at most....everyone is spread out. Doug and I hated noise while gaming so we've spread it way out.

Special Guest list is as follows, with most if not all people on the list running at least two games. Maybe a couple more will be added before the con.

Bill Barsh, Ed Bickford, Ben Burns, Casey Christopherson, Chris Clark, Levi Combs, Dave “Zeb” Cook, Darlene, Jeff Easley, Matt Finch, Dr. Greg Gillespie, Skeeter Green, Allen Hammack, Jason Hobbs, Alex Kammer, Tim Kask, Diesel LaForce, Steve Marsh, Lloyd Metcalf, Stefan Pokorny, Merle Rasmussen, Dr. Scott Robinson, James Shields, Dr. Dennis Sustare, Jeff Talanian, Jim Wampler, Bill Webb, Thom Wilson, Steve Winter, Alyssa Faden & Jack Cull, Jennell Jaquays & Rebecca Heineman, Mike & Liz Stewart, Eddie Bartlett & Matt Gullett (Longcon)

Mike B.

Emphasis mine. Looks like my event is getting some attention! Don't recall seeing any other Middle-earth games on the schedule. ;)

Yeah, I saw the post too.

I dropped onto the site today to see if my events had been reviewed and posted yet, still no dice. However, I did notice that tickets were available for three of the games I'd been eyeballing, I'm guessing someone in attendance dropped out or cancelled and the tickets went back into the pool. Luckily for me, I was able to grab them this morning.

Picked up Jeff's Hyperborea game on Saturday, DCC Jungle Tomb of the Mummy Bride on Thursday afternoon (unfortunately not the AD&D one that you're in), and DCC Weird Frontiers on Thursday night. I was originally going to shoot for one of the CoC spots on Thursday for the 9 hour event, Where the Spirits Dwell, but eh, if I can grab some other games now, might as well. At this point the only two time slots I don't have filled are Thursday morning and Saturday evening, when I have my two games scheduled.

This was posted to the FB group:

Hear ye, Hear ye, attention all NTXRPGCON fun seekers!!!!!
Announcements:
  • I have sent out all of the payment requests emails to all of the people who had reserved game tickets and had been charged zero $'s If you have not received an email and owe for tickets let me know. (via IM) (There were 3 rejected emails) I have already started to receive payments. I will give everyone until Saturday midnight to get paid up and then I'll start revoking tickets for unpaid tickets.
  • If there are any revoked tickets on Saturday night this will mean that there might be open spots in some games that were full before. I will not revoke status until 6am Sunday so that people can "be ready" to see if any games are open that they wanted to get into.
  • Please note, there are still games to be added to the schedule. If you purchase pre-sale tickets and then want "credit" later to drop out of a game and choose another, traditionally there have been no refunds for those tickets. I'm willing to discuss it on a case by case basis but I'd prefer to not have to keep track of all of that.
  • I hope to have T-Shirt sales available by Monday. You will be able to purchase them on TableTop. You will provide your shirt size at time of order. All shirts will be in black. IM me if you have questions. (Special guest and staff will have colored shirts based on requests. This is a NIGHTMARE to administer but I am willing to discuss the possibility of a $5 "upcharge" for people wanting colored shirts other than black.)
  • I will send more updates as I have them.
Looks like more events will be inbound. I guess if I see something MORE interesting than what I have I may switch up at some point, but for now I like what I have.

I saw that 7 of the 12 5e games at NTX are now in cancelled status. I hope nothing has happened to the people who were running those events, but I am happy to see less 5e on the events listing. IMO, the focus at NTX should remain old school games and versions thereof like C&C.

For S&Gs I clicked on a link to NTX's FB site and it seems to be open to the public. I saw some comments from Gary-O posted this evening.

I am in the process of approving and listing the remaining 41 games submitted this evening. I hope to have them all listed by morning so you will have 12 or more hours to get a final viewing of available games before we go live tomorrow at 8pm Central.

Nothing like waiting until the last minute. Registration opens tomorrow. Number of events has remained 154 for weeks.

Let me be VERY clear here, Doug was only able to keep the schedule full because attendees submitted games, PERIOD. I can't force people to get their games listed. As Brian JiglyBits Stanley mentioned below, I'm spending at MINIMUM 10 hrs a week on all convention related operations activities. (Including TableTop) I am listing the games that people are submitting folks. If the schedule seems light, it's because I have fewer submissions. This is a volunteer event. I can't make people do anything. Doug used to email, call and hound people to list games. If that's what I have to do I guess I'll ramp it up. I know Steve Winter has games he was going to list. I have Tim Kask games to list and many more. Keep checking TableTop and see what gets listed day by day.

Gary-O saying he "can't force people to get their games listed" makes no sense as he is the one who is listing the games. There are 41 games waiting to be listed. He said "I can't make people do anything" but again, nothing new has been posted for WEEKS.

At 2:28 PM yesterday:

Badge and merchandise sales are still going to be up and game submissions are still up. I have 33 new games I will be listing in the next 24 hours that will be ready for open registration on April 15.

Timeline missed.

This is the worst handling of an events listing, compounded by waiting until less than 24 hours before registration goes live, that I've seen. From a casual observation it seems as though no viable succession plan was created for Doug's passing (RIP) and now NTX is laboring from a single point of failure scenario.
