I ran across a post on FB from the NTRPG con going on this weekend. Seeing many of the pictures posted, reminded me of the first two or so years of GaryCon. I grabbed some pics from the group to show off all the folks having a nice run of games this year. It's unfortunate for me that the con fall right on my daughter's B-day almost every year, I would love to attend. This looks like a big ball of old-school gaming fun, done right!

And then we have THIS GUY...yeesh, lookin' all smug behind his DM screen. Sittin' there as if to say, "That's right, I'm running this awesome game, at this awesome con, while you schmucks are sitting at home doing nothing and just twiddling your fingers, wishing you were here."

Or maybe not and instead, I'm just projecting my own jealousy into the picture....that might be more likely...

Cool to see how everything is spaced out - should keep noise levels pretty low.

Yeah, I agree, that much space would of great benefit for groups playing. I'm sure some of that has to do with folks not attending this year, it will be interesting to see the difference next year when more folks are willing to travel and attend.

NTRPG is super limited on attendance. I think it's 800 or less currently. That's one of the reasons they are able spread out, and why it looks like a great old school convention. If y'all ever decide to try and attend let me know. I'll definitely make an effort to go too.

I'm interested. The timing just has to work out right.

I haven't heard final attendance figures yet for this year, but in the past NTX has pretty much capped out around 450 or so. I'll report back, but my guess is 350-ish for 2021.

It's a wonderful con and well-worth attending in general, and in particular if you're sick of GaryCon's bullshit.

We did have a good time playtesting my "evil drow PCs on a hit mission for Eclavdra, set in Erelhei-Cinlu" adventure :D

Great to hear, Allan. It looks like everyone there was having a fantastic time. Depending on how con-going goes next year, I'll have to keep an eye out if you run it again and I'm attending. Evil for the win! :nazwalk:

Emphasis mine.
Those are probably the most compelling reasons yet for attending! Jus' sayin'.
