Since James is a Dr. Strange fan...why not have some fun with bloopers and behind the scenes.

Star Wars, the original movies (4-6) were instrumental during my childhood and hearing the soundtrack from the movies always brings back some good memories. Ran across this video on YT, it's a one hour compilation and loop, but even just listening to the first few minutes or so, knocks you back to yesteryear.

Aside from the original soundtrack, I also stumbled onto something interesting that I've never run across before, The Star Wars "Despecialized" Project. The project is aimed at restoring the original, unedited films into high-quality video.
'Star Wars: Despecialized Edition' Restores the Original, Unedited Trilogy
One fan spent half a decade putting together a high-quality version of the films without Lucasfilm's later edits. The original Star Wars trilogy has seen a number of changes over the years. The first Star Wars (1977), and its sequels The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), were famously altered by Lucasfilm and re-released in 1997 as the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition to tie in with the 20th anniversary of the series. These changes added new scenes, music, edits, and CGI effects. Further changes were later added to the films' DVD and Blu-ray releases in 2004 and 2011.

But for years, fans have been clamouring for a high-quality DVD or Blu-ray release of the original and unaltered Star Wars trilogy.

One such devotee, Petr Harmáček (aka "Harmy"), has spent nearly half a decade pursuing his own long-running saga—to return the first Star Wars trilogy to its former glory. "I wanted to be able to show people who haven't seen Star Wars yet, like my little brother or my girlfriend, the original, Oscar-winning version, but I didn't want to have to show it to them in bad quality," he explained.
It goes without saying that, of course, getting a hold of the "despecialized" versions of the films requires a bit of navigation through the <cough> back alleys of the internet. (yes, I found them, yes I now have them... )

Still, it's pretty remarkable to think that someone put this much time and effort into restoring the movies this way. The video below goes into much greater detail of the project and shows off the severe differences of additions and later edits to the films. I'm pretty blown away with the number of changes made that I wasn't aware of. If you want to see some of the drastic changes, you can skip to the 9:53 mark.

And yet another classic ruined by progressive ideology. Saw this dreck on a youtube vid earlier today.
Marvel Studios may drop 'Men' from X-Men to be more inclusive
X-Men may soon be getting a makeover as Marvel Studios reportedly feels the name is not inclusive. Studio head Kevin Feige also reportedly feels the name "X-Men" is too old-fashioned and not progressive enough. Other reports point to a new name, The Mutants, which is in active production and is seemingly set to reboot the X-Men franchise. The films themselves have subtly hinted at this change. In the movie Dark Phoenix, Mystique says to Charles, "By the way, the women are always saving the men around here. You might want to think about changing the name to X-Women."
 :sick2:

Sterilizing something just ruins it, if everyone is special, then no one is special. I guess next they'll need to change characters to just, Superperson, Aquaperson, Wonderperson, Spiderperson, and Batperson to make sure everyone has only the good feelings. It's like when WotC put out 4th edition and every single class had the same number of At-Will, Encounter, and Daily powers. Everyone gets the same treatment, everyone is balanced; pretty soon, every class feels the same.

Can't be bothered to defile the 'Road Goes Ever On' section with this, so I'm sticking it here instead.

Some news popped off today about the upcoming, Amazon LotR series. If this is how it's going to be, then I'm 99% sure, "Nope, I'm already out."
I especially like the part about "feature strong female characters"... because you know, Eowyn who slew the Witch King, Galadriel the Elf Queen, and Arwen, who saved Frodo's life while being pursued by the Black Riders, aren't apparently strong (enough) female characters.

For f*cks sake, this has the absolute predisposition to be a total and utter sh*t show of the Professor's work. So glad I already have the extended DVDs and digital copies, to boot, because this doesn't sound like anything worth my time.

The founding of Numenor....

The dwarves migrate to Khazad-Dum....

Sauron builds Barad-dur....

The Rings of Power are forged. Sauron in his guise as Annatar, Lord of Gifts, gives the Rings....

Elrond establishes Rivendell.....

Nine "great kings of men" fall into shadow and become the Nazgul....

Sauron surrenders to Ar-Pharazon....

The downfall of Numenor....

Last Alliance of Men and Elves....

The defeat of Sauron....

Soooooo much to work with! There are different races and cultures in Middle Earth. I want good stories with solid writing and compelling characters. If it makes sense for a character to be female then great! If it makes more sense for the character to be male then great! I just hope the show doesn't beat us over the head with modern identity politics. It is discouraging that the info trickling out is about diversity rather than story elements viewers can look forward to seeing. *Sigh*

Been catching up on the seasons of Cobra Kai. I'm about to wrap up season 2, then jump into 3. There haven't been too many shows that I've enjoyed watching in the last year or two, but this one checks a lot of the right boxes. If you've ever enjoyed the original Karate Kid movie and sequel, then I highly recommend watching this series. The writing it great, the characters are original cast, mixed with new faces, it's relatable to both kids and adults. And it has a nice dose of everything, from humor and fighting to mild drama and romance, even has plenty of throwbacks to the 80s.

So far I'd say 4.5 out of 5.

Heh. Got a kick out of this one.

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-haaa! Hey, don't knock farts in the bath til you've tried it. Little pleasures, man. Sounds like this guy needs to take a year off and find some little pleasures. Or find a new day job that doesn't make him so miserable. Then again, he is Scottish, where being pissed off is an accepted social past time. Guid ern.
