Full article HEREOutlander and The Handmaid’s Tale director Mike Barker has been hired to tell the story of a young boy named Jack Sawyer and his sprawling quest through a monstrous alternate dimension to find the mystical object that can cure his dying mother. He might just save two worlds in the process.
Amblin and the Kennedy/Marshall Company are producing the film, and they have been involved in the project for decades. Chris Sparling (who wrote the claustrophobic Ryan Reynolds thriller Buried), will adapt the script. Jeff Sneider of Collider first broke the filmmaker news.

Looks like one of SKs early fantasy books will be coming out as a full length film in the future. My only concern is that The Dark Tower didn't do so well and I hope this one doesn't follow the same path. I remember reading this back in middle-school, I believe. My friends and I were big into King's books along with those by Dean Koontz so it's been a long time coming to see it finally adapted to screen.

The Talisman is a great book! But it is also a pretty big book. There is no way this can be adapted into a 2 - 2.5 hour film without gutting it. I think 2 films, as is the case with the new IT adaptation, totaling 4.5 - 5 hours could do it justice.

Today I was driving in to work and on the radio St. Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion) came on. It reached over and cranked up the volume for no particular reason and then I thought to myself that I felt like watching The Lost Boys. I know what you're thinking, wtf does St. Elmo's Fire have to do with The Lost Boys?!? Absolutely nothing, except they are both relics from the 1980s.
My brain then switched to an idea...why not spend the rest of the summer watching random 80s movies? This seemed like a good idea so I said, ok yeah, when I have free time and not doing much of anything else, I'm going to binge on classic 80s movies and make this an 80s throwback for the rest of the summer.
Now, I have plenty of movies in mind BUT I thought, why not post here on 3P and have other folks toss their own movie ideas into the mix. So feel free to drop a line with one or more of your fan favorite 80s flicks, doesn't matter the genre or quality, if it's 80s it's good!
To start things off, here are just a few of what I'm plan to watch.
The Lost Boys
Ghostbusters
Bladerunner
Beverly Hills Cop
The Empire Strikes Back (and while technically not 80s, Star Wars will be included)
Ladyhawk
Caddyshack
Weird Science
Poltergeist
Willow

Great idea!! I agree with a LOT on your list, lemme just edit and add to it for my list Which I am sure is not complete!
Bladerunner
Ladyhawk
The Lost Boys
Ghostbusters
Caddyshack
Willow
Princess Bride (late 80s, but so quotable and fun )
Hawk the Slayer - kicking teh 80's off with a cheesy BANG!!
The Blood of Heroes (aka The Salute of the Jugger) ending the 80's with an action packed BANG. (Maybe 1990, but still a great B Movie!)
Die Hard - still a Christmas movie.
Lethal Weapon - progenitor of the buddy cop movies (I don't care if there are earlier ones, the ridiculously implausible martial arts fight ending of this movie beats all!)

Nice Ron, some excellent choices for sure. Admittedly I don't think I've ever seen The Blood of Heroes, I'll have to check that one out.

Several of the cast members from Angel have returned for a 20th Year Anniversary Reunion. I had heard rumors that if the idea of a revival were given a go, that David would be on board. Even if it were just one season, I'd like to see what they could do to bring it back around. Along with Buffy, this was one of my fav shows back in the late 90s and early 2000s.

“It’s good to see everybody!” says David Boreanaz, 50, the show’s titular vampire who, upon arrival, immediately makes a beeline for the dressing room to find his costars. Spotting Charisma Carpenter (shallow cheerleader-turned-champion Cordelia) and Amy Acker (shy Texan physicist Winifred “Fred” Burkle) in makeup chairs, he plops himself on the counter and sits, legs swinging giddily, catching up with them while they’re curled and coiffed. “Look at that smile,” he says, gesturing to Carpenter with affection. “We just picked up where we were last time we talked to each other.” Speaking of picking up, Acker, 42, enjoyed the series’ experience so much, she has already declared she’d be ready for a revival, which would be season 6. “Every show should be this fun,” she says. “We were so spoiled.”

HUDSON: Hey, I don't mean to rain on your parade but we're not gonna last seventeen hours!
RIPLEY: This little girl survived longer than that with no weapons and no training.
HUDSON: (near panic) Why don't you put her in charge!
Aliens is one of my top 5 favorite films.
