Hmmm. Wonder if it would be ready in time for GaryCon. I'd guess not. A 4 month turnaround on a project of this size seems overly optimistic given my experience with kickstarters.

Yeah, doubtful. But, according to the project page, which started today, it says that this is just an upgrade of the layout, art, and cleaning up and consolidating information, essentially just the 2nd printing of the game the way they do C&C. The mechanics and such won't be changed or altered so the original books and supplements are still playable and compatible.

Was damned surprised to see that TLG was the center of discussion on a recent Clownfish video. Good on Steve and Co. in standing their ground amidst the sea of agenda driven companies. They took some heat on twitter (not surprised), but seemed to have garnered just as much, if not more, praise for their comment. In support, I went ahead and placed an order for some items that I've been wanting to add to the collection. And, in addition to the order, I think I'm also going to modify my 2023 resolution about d20 vs other games, because I'd like to promote C&C and the Trolls at some of our local game stores, see if I can get them some new players.

There are people whose lives are so empty that they just look for a reason to lash out. Those folks could benefit from something like... oh, I don't know... a hobby!
Just seems like common sense to me to escape the BS in real life by engaging the imagination in a game. If a group chooses to inject real world politics into its fantasy campaign, it is certainly free to do so but I think that group's members are missing the point of escapism.
I see on the TLG site that there is a new link to info for 3rd party publishing. Need to go give that a look...

Posted this to the C&C group on FB, but here is the haul I received from TLG yesterday.
I swear I had a copy of the Adventurer's Backpack that James got me one year as a gift, but cannot for the life of me find it, so had to get another. I wanted Tome of the Unclean to complete my C&C bestiary books (besides, you can never have enough daemons and devils), now with Monsters and Treasure and Monsters and Treasure of Aihrde, my critter collection is complete. Mystical Companions is just cool for expanding not only wizard familiars, but also animal companions in various forms for the other classes. Matter of fact, depending on player actions, you might see something from this book pop up in my GaryCon adventure (mwahahaha).
The C&C box set is what I want to have on the table if/when I run games at the local shop. Of course, I'll still have my hardcover books too, but having that box set with the minimal rules and such is great for showing off the simplicity of the game.

Those damned GREMLINS took it!
Adventurers Backpack includes notes on soap for cleanliness so if we're attacked by some Unclean Thing I know what I'm reaching for.

From Troll Lord Games regarding the Hasbro/Wotc OGL 1.1.
TLG has been a longtime supporter of WoTC and Dungeons and Dragons. We started playing D&D in 1976. The news about the OGL 1.0 (a), if it is true, and it is important to note that as of this moment nothing official has been released, is rather disappointing. Supporting the new OGL, in the form it appeared in the leaked commentary, is not an option for us at TLG. If it manifests in this speculated form, it is an unnecessarily harsh treatment of the entire TTRPG family, those who played, play, and who publish. It is basically an admission of distrust in the people who play their game, the very ones who bring it to ever greater heights of expression. TLG does not share that philosophy. The only thing that maintains our stance in this ttrpg family is the family itself, creators, publishers, players, game masters, their own families, and friends who cheer them on from the sidelines. TLG will not sign this leaked OGL, nor participate in it in any way. Castles & Crusades and all the Siege Engine games are powered by the Siege Engine Attribute Check Mechanic, which is owned entirely by our parent company Chenault & Gray Publishing. What little pieces of the SRD leaked its way into our game over the years, we'll quietly remove, and carry on making and publishing games for us all to play.

Good to hear. I feel better about working on C&C stuff for my own output.Necron 99 wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 8:54 pm From Troll Lord Games regarding the Hasbro/Wotc OGL 1.1.

Ran across some posts from TLG/Steve's Twitter page. I'm not on twitter, no do I want to be, but I do like stopping in on the TLG account about once a week or so, because it seems to get a bit more traffic than the Facebook page(s). A couple of posts stood out.
This one, was a pic of Steve's game room/table, which I thought looked pretty damn cool. So many shelves and books, it's like a library unto itself. And not just gaming related book, there are a ton of history books (Europe, Napoleon, etc.) on the right-hand side of the table. While I didn't have an entire library, it sort of reminds me of the game room I had back in Valdosta, where we played. Great times.
The next two screen shots are posts that were made more recently due to the chaos surrounding the OGL. Steve and Co. let fans know that anyone is welcome to publish using C&C/AA and how to go about doing it. This may be especially interesting for Anc, since he's wanting to publish adventures.

I definitely miss those sessions we played in Valdosta. Good times!
Looks like there is more Dr. Pepper in the game room than books.
I looked at the 3rd Party Publishing on the Trolls' site. Part of the content is a OGL 1.0(a). I'm wondering if that will no longer be required and go away after the PHB, M&T, etc. are updated to remove open game content.
