Nuke-Con is a small gaming convention held every October in Omaha, NE. I try to attend each year to show some support to the local gamers and dealers whose wares catch my eye.

Last year I took the opportunity to playtest the C&C game that I ended up running at GCXI. I'll do the same thing this year with the AD&D event I intend to run at GCXII. I hope I get some old school players... or at least some interested folks who don't mind getting down with some old school gaming goodness.

There are two WFRP4e events on the event schedule this year so I signed up for both to get my toe in the water with the new edition of the game. There is also a session of 1920s era Call of Cthulhu on the schedule so I signed up for that, too. If the GMs and adventures are good then it should be time well spent!

Sounds awesome! Hopefully WFRP4e is enjoyable, seems like it should be but you never know until you play.

The next two cons near me are GnomeCon in Savannah, and RapierCon here in Jacksonville. I've yet to attend either one but am going to try and go to both this year and see how they are. I may try and run my Solomon Kane or Buried adventures.

I keep thinking that I should make a trip up to NukeCon sometime, given that you and Paul Stormberg are local....

Dang, I'd not heard of that convention in Orldando, Allan. Thanks for the heads up.

Here is the blurb for my AD&D adventure at Nuke-Con.

Your party trekked through the jungle south of the Olman islands to find the ancient ruins of Tamoachan. At the outskirts of the ruins, you discovered the unexplored temple of Mictlantecuhtli. What awaits within? Can your party enter, explore, and emerge from the temple of the god of the underworld?

N.B. You only get 300 characters to write the blurb and I used every one of them. GCXII gives 400 characters plus an expanded option that I'll definitely be using when the time comes....

I'm about a week out from Nuke-Con so took a peek at the events listing. There are a ton of 5nowflake and PooFinder events which does not surprise since 5e is the 800 lb. gorilla and PF just released a 2nd edition (for which the art is still poor).

Anyway, I went to see how my AD&D game and some others I signed up for are doing. My event has 0 folks signed up. If I don't end up running The Skull of Tamoachan at Nuke-Con, I'll probably just ask The Barons take a short break from C&C and playtest it for me.

I signed up for two back-to-back WFRP4e sessions... and so far I'm the only one to sign up for them. I hope the GM gets some walk ups to fill some seats. I signed up for a 1920s era Call of Cthulhu that sounded pretty interesting. Haven't played some quality CoC for several years. This event also has just one person signed up for it. *Le Sigh*

If all else fails, I can walk next door to an Italian place for some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

But seriously, if all of these events flop, I may have to reconsider future Nuke-Con participation as I just can't stomach the idea of 5nowflake and PooFinder. There are some board games and card games but I just don't care. Oh well. Whatever will be will be.
