Hey all, sorry I haven't been around for a bit. I had to deploy for Emergency Response to the Naval Air Station at Pensacola, after the hurricane hit. I was there for ten days (Sep 18-29th) assisting with recovery efforts. We just made it back to town, yesterday. Just a quick FYI as to why it's been quiet lately. The base was hit pretty good, had some severe damage but overall, much better than prior years at other locations.

Welp, with the oncoming of Hurricane Zeta to the Louisiana area, looks like the storm is centered to run right through our Naval bases in New Orleans and then Gulfport, MS.

There is a good chance I'll be deploying again for emergency response. If so, guaranteed I'll be gone at least a week from tomorrow, if not two. This will likely be the reason if I'm not posting for a bit, but if we have internet or cell service, I may be able to pop on here and there.

Just a heads up in case anyone wonders.

Welp, thankfully we didn't have to deploy. Even though Zeta was a Cat 2 when it hit New Orleans and Gulfport, the bases didn't take any severe damage and didn't request any further support.

Well, it's that time of the year again and Ida is bearing down on Louisiana. From the look of it being a CAT4, New Orleans is probably going to take a pretty big hit, which means I'll be deploying sometime this week, most likely Tue or Wed, to lend Emergency Response and Damage Assessment to our Navy base there. Odds are I'll be gone for two weeks.

I will be very surprised if we don't end up going.
