GCXII was cancelled.
Origins was postponed to October but I expect that to be cancelled.

Yeah, saw some chatter about that online the other day. Looks like a lot of folks were asking about "virtual" gaming instead.

Barring death, PF-Con is not getting canceled. Sucks to see all these gatherings getting canceled, but I understand why.

And now with mass demonstrations / protests in major cities all over the U.S., the potential for the virus situation to become more problematic is certainly there.

I feel like we're going to see everything cancelled through the end of the year. Since I wasn't able to make Garycon this year, I'm tentatively planning to get up to DragonCon during Labor Day weekend. I've never run a game at DC, but figure this might be the year to do it since the sessions I've run at GC went pretty well.

But, with everything going on, I'm not too confident that DragonCon is going to happen.

If I was to put money on it, I'd wager DC also gets cancelled. Too many potential liability / litigation issues having so many people together like that. I expect an announcement sometime in July.

Nuke-Con is doing a virtual convention like Gary Con, Origins, and Gen Con but I've no interest participating. when I do the online gaming option it's with friends and game systems I'm into. I had a poor experience last year with an in-person GM bailing on 2 sessions and arriving late & unprepared for a 3rd.

I cannot say that I'm surprised. With the virus mutating and all the protests and rallies going on I'm surprised we're not seeing even more people infected.

I'm quite sure they are... just haven't been officially diagnosed yet.

This morning I was invited to join a softball team in a league that will begin a week from now. While I really miss playing ball, there is no way in hell everyone involved is going to be able to maintain distance, especially when each person takes a turn at-bat with a catcher and home plate umpire right there. Add in the circumstance of running which causes folks to breathe harder thereby expelling more moisture as its too hot outside to play sports and wear a mask... its just a recipe for contracting a potentially devastating illness. I hope to be able to play in 2021.
