In the medieval era, you would often hear about some person succumbing to wounds after engaging in a hunt for a wild boar. I never really gave it much thought until I ran across a post showing off some wild boars and I had no clue they could get so large. Below are a couple of pictures showing off two of the largest hogs killed, on record. Both clock in over 1000lbs, average for most hogs is around 400lbs. For comparison, keep in mind that the average size of a bear is around 600lbs.

There are some big hawgs down south (4-legged and 2-legged varieties
) for sure! I think that second pic has been doctored to make the boar appear larger than it actually is. The boy in the picture has a bit of a halo around him that I don't think would be appearing naturally...

The boar is real, as is the kid, but it seems like the boar in the pic may have been adjusted in some aspect. I should have added links for the two above, but didn't think about it.
