Since a few of us have already paid for a membership, might as well start this thread for discussion....

Yep, I have secured a badge for attending in 2025. Barring anything unforeseen, I shall be in attendance. The last time I planned to attend, Jen messed up her toe and couldn't get around and Em's birthday party had to get prepped., cancelled my plans last minute.

On the topic of running games, I believe I will shoot to run OSE/BX, maybe throw something else into the mix also, Savage Worlds adventures are great for one shots.

Jared snagged his membership a few days ago. Niels (Pardue in Don's 2e game) said he snagged a membership tonight (29-Jun-24).
Sam and Don are both interested. This is already shaping up nicely.

I'm still thinking about running a HârnMaster demo. Maybe 4-5 players with pre-gens available. Possibly some variation of Timmy fell down the well for the third time this week and we need to get him out... then the wackiness begins. :lol2:

Nice. Seems like NTRPG is picking up traction, would be nice to see it sell out every year.

Indeed. And not expand beyond 500 advance sale badges!

500 is a solid number, but as I recall from the earlier days of our attendance to GaryCon, the sweet spot seemed to lie between 800 and 1200. If at any point the NT folks decided to increase their attendance, my only stipulation would be to not allow more than 1k, assuming 1k would be a viable number for people to get rooms in the venue. Once you have people staying at other hotels to attend, it becomes an issue trying to acquire a room. Whatever the hotel can hold, that should be the cap, imo.

The hotel has 12-14 floors - not sure how many rooms that translates as but 500 was "comfy" for space considerations in events rooms, dealer hall, dining & bar, and parking lot. Gary Con in 2016 (first year at Grand Geneva) was around the number range you mentioned and it was "comfy" for moving around and game play - no shouting at the table for folks to hear each other like I experienced in 2023.

I'll be looking to attend next year despite my disastorous trip this year. Still, none of what happened was because the convention was bad. What bit I did get to attend I enjoyed. I'm not sure when I'll be able to commit yet, but I'll be sure to let everyone know when I do. It'll likely be pretty last minute again.
