When not playing on my standing cabinet, I like to dabble with retro Arcade, PC, and Console emulation on my current PC, primarily because it has a lot more power and can emulate a greater variety of systems.

One of the things I've done using the RetroArch emulation application, is create an overlay that mimics an 80s themed desktop and with a Commodore 64.

The image below is one original overlay that I downloaded in a pack and is usable for taking up monitor screen space while displaying the game. It's not terrible, but I thought it could definitely be improved to provide a more aesthetically pleasing experience while playing. With additional game shaders running behind the overlay, it mimics the look of an actual CRT monitor. :D

Using photoshop and images I was able to scrabble up from the interwebs, I turned the same overlay into this one.

Are some screenshots while running DosBox; playing the old PC games Ultima III: Exodus and Might & Magic: World of Xeen.

And just for shiz and grinz, here is a quick video capture playing one of my all time favorite Arcade games, Rastan.
